Hello Contractors - anybody have any visibility theyd be willing to share on remote refrigeration system availability in the market (now) for systems in the 2hp to 3hp range, preferably 3 phase? Were installing a walk-in for a community food pantry in Phoenix, AZ and our contractor market is hard pressed right now, and local supply seems nuts. I finally surrendered on box and bought a used box half the size we eventually need (interior use) and have accepted Ill just over cool it until we replace - everything new is 8 to 12 weeks out, and even that seemed speculation. Now I am pre-emptively installing electric as local refrigeration guys are all too busy to want to do it. But its taken 6 weeks and 5 companies to get follow through from site visit. By the time this is done, who knows what will be available. Id ideally like to put in a 3 phase 2.25hp unit because it will save me a few cents operating. But if I have to scrounge or adapt, does anyone have an informed idea whether Ill be able to find a complete remote system in this size range and 3 phase, or am I going to end up compromising for a single phase system? Im not seeing anything reassuring, and Im tempted to wire up all options, for another couple grand cost in copper, but I think its still 50/50 I end up settling for a bunch of frigidaires and extension cords from supply chain issues. Anybody have a feel for whats available? Advice on things to stay away from because of availability (eg 1 phase versus 3 phase)?
