Good morning everyone. Have a simple question regarding life expectancies of belts. We have several dozen forced air units where I work that I am responsible for. They are old units with a very simplistic design with 3 possible positions. Full fresh air, full recirculating or a blend position. These units run 24/7. Regarding the drive belts, my employer has it set up in our pm program to replace the drive belts every 3 months along with filter replacement. The frequency of replacing the belts seems excessive. Assume correct belt tension & alignment, what is a realistic life of a drive belt? All the air handlers are inside. I typicality buy Ax & Bx belts for these. Thanks for your input.
