Hi all - have searched a bit, but seem to find some conflicting advice. I am in Arizona, and will be adding a sewer line to my existing septic system for a garage bathroom. I plan on using 4” Sdr35 pipe, and total run is about 165’. My main question is - should I bed the pipe in sand (or some other material), or can I just backfill with the excavated dirt from the trench? I read that sand makes it easier to get the right fall, but just not sure what most people do when they lay the pipe....
