Zone Valve Wiring - Abandoning red wires. | Terry Love Plumbing Advice & Remodel DIY & Professional Forum

Folks – I have a Honeywell zone valve (v8043e1012). As you know it has 4 wires, 2 red 1 yellow and 1 orange. I want to move the connections from a taco sr501 to a taco 2vc404 to an open spot for other reasons… My question is can I abandon the two red wires since they are not needed with the 404?
