PVC into old drain broken | Terry Love Plumbing Advice & Remodel DIY & Professional Forum

Hello, I have a pvc drain that was running into an old drain underneath the basement floor. The connection was some kind of threaded fitting, but now the threads are broken on the metal peice. Any idea what that fitting is called and is it best to replace it or try something else? thanks!!
