I had a well drilled in Ohio a few weeks ago and after pumping for about a week straight, it won't clear up. The water goes from very silty to not so silty, back to very silty—it is rarely clear but does get clear at times. The silt is grey.
If I let it sit for a few hours it is noticeably clear and sitting over night, everything will settle and I'm left with clear water on top and silt gathered at the bottom.
